Home-made Ginger Beer

How to make home-made ginger beer for dark and stormy cocktails!


  • 2 cups cold water
  • 1 cup fresh lime juice
  • 5 tsp. fresh bottled/ground ginger
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 cups sparkling water (Pellegrino or Perrier)


  1. Combine ginger, cold water, and lime juice in blender.
  2. Blend until mixed well.
  3. Strain with ultra fine strainer or cheesecloth.
  4. Discard ginger and pulp.
  5. Add sugar and stir until completely dissolved.
  6. Add Sparkling water.
  7. Serve over ice.
