Simple one pot chili recipe. Serve with fresh rolls or tortilla chips for dipping.

Chili [from scratch]
Recipe type: Soup

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 8 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1 large can diced tomatoes
  • 3 cans dark red kidney beans
  • chili powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • Tabasco Sauce, optional

  1. Brown ground beef with salt and pepper and chopped onion.
  2. Drain the fat.
  3. Add tomato sauce, tomatoes and beans, with liquid.
  4. Stir well.
  5. Bring to a light boil and then reduce to simmer, then add chili powder.
  6. Add a little kick with some Tabasco sauce, optional.
  7. *Serve hot with a little cheese and onion of your choice topping.
