It’s that time of year again! Hot stew on a chilly evening. 

Simple Beef Stew
Recipe type: Soup
 

Ingredients
  • 1lb. beef of your choice, cubed
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 3 celery stalks, chopped
  • 10 chopped baby carrots or two carrots, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, shredded
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp. rosemary
  • 1 tsp. cayenne
  • 1 beef bullion cube
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 potatoes, cubed
  • ½ cup flour
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 2 cups water

Instructions
  1. In a large pot, brown the beef, onions, salt and garlic over medium heat for approximately 7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  2. Add the flour and stir until blended.
  3. Add the liquids, bullion, spices, bay leaf and potatoes.
  4. Bring to a boil.
  5. Cover and reduce to a simmer for 45 minutes.
  6. Add the celery and carrots.
  7. Cook for an additional 10 minutes.
  8. Ready to serve!
