Carol’s Hot Buttered Rum

Serves: 6

You must prep ahead of time with this recipe. Impress your guests with this hot buttered rum cocktail.
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups confectioners sugar
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1 pint vanilla ice cream, softened
  • ½ tsp. cinnamon
  • ½ tsp. nutmeg
  • ½ tsp. allspice
  • dash of mace (no worries if you don’t have this)
  • rum (or spiced rum)
  • Boiling water (fill that kettle)

  1. Cream butter, spices, and sugars.
  2. Blend with softened ice cream.
  3. Mix well.
  4. Pack into covered container, store in freezer.
  5. Serving Instructions:
  6. Add a generous spoonful of ice cream mixture into mug.
  7. Add 2 oz. rum and mix well.
  8. Add boiling water to fill.
  9. Adjust ice cream mixture to taste.
  10. Serve immediately while hot.
  11. Top with a light sprinkling of cinnamon (optional).
