Instead of a traditional apple pie, try this apple tart! It’s so easy to make and very pretty on a plate.

Ingredients
- 2¼ cups all purpose flour
- 3 sticks of cold butter
- ½ cup very cold water
- tsp. salt
- ½ cup sugar plus 1 tbsp. sugar
- 4 green apples, peeled and cored
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 3 tbsp. spiced rum
- greased deep baking sheet
Instructions
- Mix the flour, 2½ sticks butter, salt, cold water, 1 tbsp. sugar in a food processor until crumbly.
- Remove and place on clean flat surface.
- Ball it up and wrap with plastic wrap.
- Refrigerate for 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 400F.
- Roll it out into a rectangle.
- Cut the apples in half and slice into thin pieces.
- Mix the apples with the sugar, cinnamon, spiced rum, and chopped ½ stick of butter.
- Arrange the apples on top of the dough in a neat layered fashion.
- Use your imagination! It doesn't have to be perfect.
- Bake for approx 45 minutes.
- Serve warm or at room temperature!

This apple tart goes great with vanilla icecream or whipping cream!
