Under $2 Spicy Cilantro Hummus (Tastes like Guacamole!)
Under $2 Spicy Cilantro Hummus (Tastes like Guacamole!)
Recipe type: Appetizer, Mediterranean
This is one of my favorite recipes of all time. I kid you not! It's super simple and costs under $2 to make.
  • 1 can garbanzo beans
  • ¼-1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1-2 cloves garlic
  • 1 cup cilantro leaves (even a little of the stems-ok)
  • ¼ cup jarred jalapenos
  • ¼ tsp. sea salt or garlic salt
  1. Strain and rinse the garbanzo beans/chickpeas. (They can be a little stinky, that's ok, haha!)
  2. Add all ingredients to a food processor and chop.
  3. Grind until smooth.
  4. Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 3 days.
  5. Try it with tortilla chips! It tastes like Guacamole!
  6. Add a sliced avocado and a little lime juice for hummus guacamole!
